The Human Library ®\; is a library of p eople and their experiences facing prejudice. Instead of physical books\, actual people are on loan for conversations. Our program with \;The Hu man Library \;®\; \;aims to create a safe space for conversatio n where topics subject to taboo\, marginalization\, or stigmatization can be openly addressed without condemnation. The people acting as Books have directly or indirectly been exposed to prejudice\, bias\, or discriminatio n based on aspects of their race\, religion\, sexual orientation\, class\, gender identity\, or disability. \;

Readings are 30 minutes. Readers must be 16 or older. Drop in throughout the program to se e what Books are available to check out\, or attend the entire program and read multiple books. Readers can check in at the Book Depot outside the M eeting Room to see what Books are available and to learn more bout the Hum an Library organization.
