Curator Jolie Braun will share highlights
from The OSU Rare Books &\; Manuscripts Library&rsquo\;s (RBML) cookboo
k collection\, which contains nearly 10\,000 volumes. Come learn about why
historical cookbooks matter and what they can tell us about food and cook
ing trends\, ideas about taste\, nutrition\, and health\, and the values a
nd concerns of the era in which they were created. Attendees will also hav
e an opportunity to hear about some of the materials on display in the Tho
mpson Library exhibition featuring RBML&rsquo\;s cookbook collection\,&nbs
p\;Essential Ingredients: Cookbooks as History\, which runs Augus
t 20\, 2024-January 5\, 2025.
