We Did It For You! (2022) \;i s an engaging musical that tells of the struggles and triumphs women have undergone to get their basic rights in America. A high school student has a history project to figure out who has done the most for women of today\, and she learns the answer from the women who were there. The film shares 400 years of history through anecdotes and accomplishments of historical f igures. Importantly\, it identifies the problems women are still up agains t on their road towards equality. This screening of We Did It For You! and following Q&\;A with the filmmakers and cast\, including Dr. Thea Iberall\, is brought to you free of charge by the Dedham Public Libra ry\, Dedham Community Theatre and We Did It For You LLC.

\nAbout the F ilm &\; Creators:
\nOriginally a play\, We Did It Fo r You! \;was first produced by the Women's Journey Conference in Costa Mesa\, CA in 2010\, and was developed into the play-reading workshop version in 2011. Since then\, thousands of women\, men\, high schoolers a nd college students across California and eastern Massachusetts\, includin g the League of Women Voters\, American Association of University Women\, Soroptimists International\, National Council for Jewish Women\, and Daugh ters of the American Revolution\, have seen it performed by a dedicated tr oupe of volunteers who care about the women's rights and active participat ion in our democracy. \;On Women's Equality Day 2017\, \;We Di d It For You! \;began performances in Massachusetts\; during the pandemic\, performances continued online. \nDr. Thea Iberall \;(playwright\, co-lyricist "We Need to Rise "\, "Power of a Spark"\, "Then and Now") \;is an award-winning writer\ , storyteller\, and scientist. She has been producing the play \;W e Did It For You! \;in California and Massachusetts since 2011. T hea \;was inducted into the International Educators Hall of Fame in 20 15. She's had over 50 poems published in journals and anthologies includin g \;The Southern California Anthology\, Spillway\, < em>poeticdiversity\, and numerous other journals. Thea was a semi-fin alist in the 2014 Mary Ballard Poetry Chapbook Prize and also in the Atlan ta Review International Poetry Competition.
