It&rsquo\;s a love story! Who would have s uspected that such a feature would emerge from Dr. Oddball&rsquo\;s Chambe r of Horrors? But as so many critics have observed\, it&rsquo\;s a Lovecra ftian love story. Not directly based on anything written by H. P. Lovecraf t but embracing the cosmic horror he imagined\, the plot begins with a you ng man who&rsquo\;s about to experience the worst day of his dreary and te dious life thus far. His mother dies\, he makes some rash decisions that g et him into trouble\, and then he abruptly decides that his best move is t o leave the country before the police come knocking. The next plane out is headed for Italy\, so he hops on and begins a bohemian adventure. What he discovers there seems too good to be true\, and of course it comes with a terrifying catch.
\nWarning: a couple of scenes depict terrible thi ngs happening to animals. The effects are simulated and important to the p lot\, but animal lovers may find them difficult to watch.
