 ouraged!</p>\n<p>In this eight-week beginner course\, students aged 55 and
  older will learn the fundamentals of working with acrylic and gouache pai
 nt\, water-based media that provide a versatile\, economical and non-toxic
  contemporary alternative to traditional oil painting. With a focus on wor
 king from observation\, technical demonstrations\, focused painting projec
 ts and hands-on instruction\, you'll become familiar with the materials an
 d techniques of painting and develop skills that will enable you to progre
 ss to the creation of more advanced work and pursue a creative vision.</p>
 \n<p>Paints and supplies provided. This program is supported by the Instit
 ute of Museum and Library Services through a grant from the Missouri State
  Library. Orr Street Studios has generously donated the use of their space
