Michael Lavrich and his beloved train disp lay are back at the Downtown Bend Library with the help of his son\, Kiera n\, and long-time helpers\, Parker Gerard and Grace Lickwar.

This marks Lavrich's twe nty-first year displaying his trains at the library\, meaning children who first watched the trains run years ago may now have children of their own with whom they share this family tradition. Lavrich began collecting trai ns more than 20 years ago. While the public only sees the display once it' s all up and running\, the set-up involves a lot of background work. "I pr etty well dedicate December to this\," Lavrich says. "It's a three day set -up and a four day take-down\, and there are a few weeks on each end at ho me." All ages are invited to watch and listen as the trains run. Lavrich's collection represents trains of the 1920s and '30s made by Lionel\, Dorfan \, Ives and American Flyer.

Esta ocasió\;n marca el vigé\;simo p rimer añ\;o que Larvich mostrará\; sus trenes en la biblioteca \, lo que significa que los jó\;venes quienes vieron por primera vez sus trenes hace muchos añ\;os\, podrí\;an tener hijos propios con quienes comparten esta tradició\;n familiar. Lavrich empez&oacu te\; a colectar trenes hace má\;s de 20 añ\;os atrá\;s. Mientras el pú\;blico solo ve la exhibició\;n cuando est&aacut e\; ya todo hecho\, el proceso involucro mucho trabajo para llegar al punt o de abrir. &ldquo\;Todo el mes de diciembre me dedico en preparar los tre nes\,&rdquo\; dijo Lavrich. &ldquo\;Demora tres dí\;as para montarla y cuatro dí\;as de desmontarla\, y hay unas semanas alrededor en pr epararnos en casa.&rdquo\; Muchas gracias Michael por compartir su maravil losa colecció\;n de trenes con nosotros.
