 </p>\n<p>With the fast pace of 21st century media\, superspreaders of misi
 nformation have it easier than ever. The result is that we're all faced wi
 th misinformation\, and learning to recognize it is more important than ev
 er. At the top of this pyramid are the lobbyists and think tanks -- and th
 ose who fund them -- crafting the original message. It's then spread by ar
 mies of politicians\, personalities\, and the mass media\; but they only r
 epresent one front in the information war. What's the other front\, and mo
 re importantly\, what can you do to fight back? Learn tips for honing crit
 ical thinking skills to help identify misinformation and find resources an
 d solid information to guide your understanding of\, and decisions about\,
  critical issues.</p>\n<p>This session was developed with SAGE\, (Senior A
 dvocates for Generational Equity) and an organization dedicated to inspiri
 ng and supporting people over fifty to give forward so that future generat
 ions thrive.</p>\n<p><strong>Brian Dunning</strong>&nbsp\;is the host and 
 producer of the award-winning Skeptoid podcast\, one of the longest runnin
 g and most popular science podcasts. Additionally\, he has written and pro
 duced the documentary films <em>The UFO Movie THEY Don't Want You to See</
 em> (2023)\, <em>Science Friction</em> (2022)\, and <em>Principles of Curi
 osity</em> (2017)\, and has authored seven books including <em>Conspiracie
 s Declassified</em> (Simon &amp\; Schuster\, 2018). A member of the Nation
 al Association of Science Writers\, Dunning is Executive Director of Skept
 oid Media\, a nonprofit educational organization which promotes science li
 teracy and critical thinking.</p>\n<p><strong>Skeptoid Media\, Inc.</stron
