Sul livan is the author of eight novels and 16 nonfiction books. He speaks Dan ish and German and reads in Norwegian and Swedish. His adventure memoir Listening for Coyote was chosen by the Oregon Cultural Heritage Com mission as one of Oregon's 100 Books\, the most significant books in the s tate's history. He lives in Eugene but does much of his writing at a log c abin\, far from roads or electricity\, in Oregon's Coast Range.
