DESCRIPTION:Worldbuilding isn&#39\;t just for fantasy novels and video gam
es...\nThis is an in-person program. &lt\;strong&gt\;Registration is requi
red.&lt\;/strong&gt\; &lt\;em&gt\;This workshop is intended for children a
ges 3-10\, and all children must be accompanied by a caregiver.&lt\;/em&gt
\;\nWith a few simple materials you can create a structure your little one
can safely get lost in! This fort building workshop led by Kaija Marshall
goes into the mechanics of PVC pipes (inputs\, outputs\, and angles) and
the basic structures needed to support fabrics and create a cozy hideaway.
We&#39\;ll also dive into the architecture behind pretend play and how to
encourage your child to find joy in creating their own space. Successful
pretend play requires imagination\, understanding\, and feeling safe and s
ecure in the real world.\nKaija is a yoga instructor\, birth &amp\; postpa
rtum doula\, and holistic workshop facilitator. She earned her Master&#39\
;s degree in Social Work from San Diego State University in 2015\, her 200
RYS Yoga Instructor certificate in 2016\, and her Birth Doula &amp\; Post
partum Doula training in 2019. She currently serves growing families as a
doula all over Bend. Before moving into the perinatal sphere\, she worked
at Girl Scouts San Diego as an Evaluation Specialist\, Camp Counselor\, an
d Outreach Program Leader\, all while moonlighting as a nanny for families
in San Diego county. She firmly believes in the purpose of play\, and see
ks to encourage mind\, body and soul connections through movement\, produc
tive dialogue\, and authentic connection. She believes that data synthesis
and gut feelings both have a place in decision making-- this is also refl
ected in her background: a unique mix of higher education and holistic tra
ining-- and this foundation allows her to help folks bridge the gap betwee
n institutional and instinctual knowledge to a place of understanding.\n*c
