What Kind of Daughter? \;is a hybrid collection of poetry and e ssay about Haines life growing up in rural Alberta and  \;the loss of her mother to cancer In\, \;What Kind of Daughter? \;Hain es reflects on the choices women are asked to make and challenges readers to reflect on the way we value\, devalue\, or simply exist within the spac es of gender and grief.

Rayanne Haines is an award-winning hybrid author and Pushcart-nominated poet\, as well as a producer of films\, stag e shows and panels. Rayanne has penned three poetry collections: The S tories in My Skin \;(2013)\, \;Stained with the Colours o f Sunday Morning \;(2017) and \;Tell The Birds Your Body Is Not A Gun \;(2021) which won the 2022 Stephan G. Stephansson\, Alberta Literary Award for Poetry and was shortlisted for the BPAA Robert Kroetsch Award for Poetry and the National ReLit Award for Poetry. A prev ious writer in residence for Edmonton Public Libraries\, she hosts the lit erary podcast \;Crow Reads\, is the president for the League of Canadi an Poets and is an Assistant Professor at MacEwan University. Rayanne has performed across Canada and has \;been published in the Globe and Mail \, Minola Review\, Fiddlehead\, Grain\, Prairie Fire and others.
