Join us on the first Tuesday of the month for our Master Gardener series\, presented by U of M Extension Becker Coun ty Master Gardeners. Master Gardeners are University of Minnesota-trained volunteers whose mission is to educate the public about a variety of horti culture subjects using readily-available\, up-to-date research-based infor mation. The Master Gardener Program educational effort is designed to enha nce the public&rsquo\;s quality of life and to promote good stewardship of the environment.

October's presentation will focus on unusual tre es for the Minnesota landscape and will be hosted by Master Gardener Nick Williams. There are twelve unusual trees that grow in this area\, but are rarely seen as landscape specimens or in yards. Our focus will be on why b iodiversity among trees is so important\, where to get some of these trees \, and what to do with them once you have them. \;
