 la conexi&oacute\;n con el pl&aacute\;tano para honrar y revitalizar la me
 moria hist&oacute\;rica y el conocimiento ancestral compartido de los pueb
 los negros\, raizales y palenqueros. Cada oto&ntilde\;o\, Daira organiza L
 a Fiesta del Pl&aacute\;tano en 5 regiones de Colombia y su gira por Estad
 os Unidos tiene como objetivo extender su trabajo de memoria m&aacute\;s a
 ll&aacute\; de las fronteras pol&iacute\;ticas.</p>\n<p>Este evento es pos

 anic Heritage Month! Staff will be tabling for library card signups\, prog
 ram information\, and Spanish book giveaways.</p>\n<p>Daira Akina Razana i
 s an Afro-Colombian grandmother\, singer\, and elder from Tumaco. Her musi
 c explores the connection with the plantain to honor and reinvigorate hist
 orical memory and shared ancestral knowledge of Black\, Raizal and Palenqu
 ero people. Every fall Daira organizes La Fiesta del Pl&aacute\;tano acros
 s 5 regions in Colombia and her U.S. tour aims to extend her memory work b
 eyond political borders.</p>\n<p>This event is made possible and in partne
 rship with Electric Cowbell Productions and the Mount Pleasant Library Fri
