Prom dresses\, homecoming dresses\, brides maid dresses\, mother-of-the-bride dresses\, and even the occasional weddi ng gown or two! We will also take shoes and purses. You can leave your don ation on the clothing rack in the library's lobby area. If you are a high school student\, snap a photo and send it to teen@aapld.org \;for a volunteer hour. \;

You do no t need to have an Algonquin Library card to donate a dress. If you miss th e deadline\, last minute dresses may be dropped off at McHenry County Coll ege in the days between February 19th and February 23rd. \;If you woul d like to volunteer for the actual dress sale itself on Sunday\, February 23\, 2025\, please contact mysis tersdress@gmail.com \;-- they can always use the extra help.

Each dress will cost $25.00 at the sale. Proceeds go to the Education t o Empowerment scholarship fund and you can learn more about that by clicking here. To date\, Educatio n to Empowerment has awarded \;$720\,000 \;in scholarships to  \;77 \;MCC students. AAPLD has been a dress donation site for the past two years and our community has contributed around 500 gowns already\, so let's go for another 250 this year!
