  an award-winning journalist at <em>The Globe and Mail</em> for over thirt
 y years. In 2020\, she won the Landsberg Award for her reporting on gender
  equality. She is the author of the essay collection\, <em>Shrewed</em>\, 
 a novel\, <em>Based on a True Story</em>\, and a mystery co-authored with
