X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Glendale Library\, Arts &amp\; Culture and
  ReflectSpace are proud to present&nbsp\;<em>Projecting L.A. 2024</em>\, a
unique photographic project that presents an intimate and kaleidoscopic v
iew of Los Angeles\, its diverse communities\, and unwieldy streets.&nbsp\
 ;<br />&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<br />The brainchild of Julia Dean&mdash\;photographe
r\, educator\, writer\, and founder of the Los Angeles Center of Photograp
 hy&mdash\;<em>Projecting L.A.</em>&nbsp\;brings together a vast spectrum o
f photographers to tell the story of Los Angeles through photojournalism\,
documentary\, and street photography. The project cuts across cultural\,
 gender\, socio-political\, generational\, community\, and physical boundar
ies and offers an often chaotic but colorful panorama of our city&mdash\;a
s seen through the lens of some of its best image makers.<br />&nbsp\;&nbs
p\;<br />The photographs in the project are as varied as they are compelli
ng and span an incredible array of Los Angeles sites and stories: from the
  region&rsquo\;s fentanyl crisis\, to Hollywood behind-the-scenes\, to a d
octor treating COVID-19 patients\, to the legacy of Marilyn Monroe\, to wi
ld Venice Beach\, to underground wrestling\, Latino street gangs\, a midwi
 fe-led delivery unit\, and the joys of childhood.<br />&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<br /
 ><em>Projecting L.A. 2024</em>&nbsp\;was screened on April 27\, 2024\, in
a one-of-a-kind outdoor projection screening in Chinatown on the side of a
three-story building for over 2\,000 spectators. The ReflectSpace iterati
on of&nbsp\;<em>Projecting L.A.</em>&nbsp\;will present a more intimate in
 door experience.</p>\n<p>The exhibition&nbsp\;is co-curated by Julia Dean\
, Daniel Sackheim\, and Ara &amp\; Anahid Oshagan and will be on view Octo
 ber 5 through December 8\, 2024. For more information\, visit&nbsp\;<a hre
