Sapata and Santigie Fofana-Dura invite the Deschutes county community to an Artist Talk where they will present on t heir artistic practice\, show examples of past projects\, and invite the c ommunity to participate in their latest endeavor\, the Sunriver Public Lib rary outdoor sculpture.
\nSapata and Santigie Fofana-Dura were born and raised in Oregon\, specifically in a small town in the Willamette Vall ey. \; Their ideas and designs are influenced by the aesthetics of the Pacific Northwest and a central focus with all of their work is to create thee quintessential "Shrine". \;
\nThe artist&rsquo\;s primary medium is reclaimed lumber as well as metal and other salvaged building ma terials. \; Using ancient\, classic and modern construction techniques allows these artist to create visual ideas conjured up from an unconsciou s realm commonly referred to as the &ldquo\;Dream World&rdquo\;. \; Th ey create architectural sculpture which aims to submerge the viewer into f amiliar yet unseen realities empowering all who bear witness to take a new steps towards embracing aspects their own subconscious imagination. \ ;
\nThe brothers have been active since 2018 and have shown their wo rk at the Bellevue Arts Museum Biennial (Bellevue\, Wa)\, the Bush House M useum (Salem\, OR)\, \; GLEAN 2023 (Portland\, OR) and several other g alleries and venues around Portland. \; \; The Sunriver Public Lib rary sculpture is the brother&rsquo\;s latest project and they are excited to work with the local community to create something truly unique and ama zing! \;
