From Russian aggression in \;Eastern Eur ope to apparently intractable violence in the Middle East\, from a confide nt and rising China to climate change-related crises to an oft-apathetic A merican public\, many sleepless nights are in store for the next resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This talk will examine these and other likely international headaches our next commander-in-chief will face.
\nRo bert "Bob" Beck retired to Peterborough in 2020 with his wife\, Meg\, afte r a 30+ year career overseas serving in U.S. embassies in Europe\, the Mid dle East\, and Asia. \; Bob teaches foreign policy both at Keene State 's Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning (CALL) and Rivier College's Rivi er Institute \;for Senior Education (RISE). \; Bob writes monthly articles on foreign policy for local papers and speaks frequently on the s ubject across the region. \;
