 nvolved by joining us for a voting rights story time this election season!
  The Olney Theatre and The Yellow Roses are teaming up to read children's 
 stories to inspire\, educate\, and motivate listeners of all ages about th
 e hard fought fight for women's voting equality.</p>\n<p>Follow the journe
 y of a young girl as she meets and is inspired by Susan B. Anthony to part
 icipate in activism demanding women's voting rights in California.</p>\n<p
 >After the stories\, kids will craft a mini "alligator purse" like the one
  Susan B. Anthony carried with her as she traveled the county advocating f
 or women's voting rights. They can then fill the mini purse with ideas and
  pictures about ways they can advocate for causes that are important to th
 em.</p>\n<p>About The Yellow Roses: The Yellow Roses is an organization th
 at empowers young people to participate in their democracy\, even if they 
 are too young to vote. Since 2020\, The Yellow Roses have been organizing 
 community events that bring together families for service learning project
 s\, non-partisan "get out he vote" events\, social justice story times\, a
 nd local park clean-ups. The name "The Yellow Roses" comes from the women'
 s suffrage movement\, when people wore yellow roses to demonstrate their s
 upport for voting equality.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This is a free family event\, a
 ppropriate for all ages. No registration needed.</p>\n<p>Generously sponso
 red by The Olney Theatre.</p>\n<p>Library Program Attendance (both virtual
  and in the branch)&nbsp\;is limited to participants within the suggested 
 age range of the program. Children attending an MCPL program under the age
  of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults attending a program intended
  for children must have an accompanying child.</p>\n<p><strong>Questions a
