  create imagery and consider how images in poems can tap into a wide range
  of sensory experiences. This session will focus on generating poems\, but

 he &ldquo\;poetic leap\,&rdquo\; or moments in poems when readers leap fro
 m conscious to unconscious thoughts while reading. An image can describe a
  mental picture for readers\, and it can also express emotion\, build a wo
 rld\, develop character\, provide context\, etc. for readers\, leaping the
 m to other things that they can bring back into the poem to enhance meanin
 g\, add layers. We will start with photographs\, explore different ways to
  create images\, and create a poem with imagery and poetic leaps. This ses
 sion will focus on generating poems\, but writers of all genres are welcom

 ke place on October 19 at Central Library. The day will include workshops\
 , the Local Authors Book Fair\, The Readings Caf&eacute\;\, and networking
  events throughout the day!</p>\n<p>This workshop is being offered in part
 nership with the&nbsp\;<a href="https://www.indianawriters.org/">Indiana W
 riters Center</a>&nbsp\;(IWC). The&nbsp\;IWC supports Indiana writers of a
 ll ages and backgrounds and reaches out to people whose voices are rarely 
 heard.</p>\n<p>This event is&nbsp\;made possible by Friends of the Library
