 hD\,&nbsp\; was a first-generation college student whose love for humanity
  and social justice developed during her undergraduate studies at Pepperdi
 ne University and her graduate studies at Wayne State University. That lov
 e has manifested in various ways at different stages of her professional c
 areer\, including center management\, academic program creation\, course d
 evelopment\, community service\, social activism\, teaching\, and research
 .</p>\n<p>Dr. Mungo is an associate professor at the University of Toledo\
 , where she is known for her engaging lectures and commitment to student s
 uccess. Dr. Mungo fosters a classroom environment of intellectual curiosit
 y\, critical thinking\, and a growth mindset. Her research focus is on soc
 ial inequality and its impact on the lives of underserved and marginalized
  people. Specifically\, she focuses on understanding how social structures
 \, systems\, practices\, and policies shape individual experiences and opp
 ortunities. She is a contributing author to two of McGraw-Hill&rsquo\;s mo
 st popular sociology textbooks and has also authored several journal artic
