\nAbout Antonio Michael Downing
\nAntonio Michael Downing spends his time writing books\, si nging songs\, and trying to make his Grandma proud. The 2018 Taylor Prize named him one of Canada's best emerging authors. His acclaimed memoir SAGA BOY was called by 2019 Giller winner Ian Williams "the triumph of Blackne ss everywhere&hellip\;&rdquo\; Stars in My Crown\, his first chil dren's book\, was released in July 2024. Black Cherokee\, his deb ut novel\, will be released in North America by Simon &\; Schuster in 2 025. He writes and performs music as John Orpheus.
