ed! If you want to attend as an audience member only\, no need to register

ith your hosts. We&rsquo\;ll save some slots for in-person signup.

/ul>\nWill any equipment be provided?

ur set-up will include one vocal mic.
\n- We&rsquo\;ll also provide
a guitar amp for musicians to plug into (If you don&rsquo\;t feel like bri
nging a guitar\, your hosts will have one you can borrow). \;
\nIt is not necessary to use the sound equipment. The space will allow for
an acoustic set if you prefer.\n- Any additional sound equipment o
r instruments will need to be provided by the performer.

\nAnything I should know before I perform or a
ttend?
\n\n- For eight minutes\, the mic is yours. For s
ingers\, that&rsquo\;s enough time for two to three songs\, on average. Fo
r poets\, it will depend on the length of your pieces. Do not feel obligat
ed to fill your entire time slot\, but do take care not to go over. \;
\n- Double-check that your pieces are appropriate for a mixed-age a
udience (high school and older). If you&rsquo\;re not sure\, ask. Your set
should not include any discriminatory or disturbing content. If people of
any particular race\, gender\, disability\, or other dimension of identit
y would feel unsafe or disrespected during your performance\, please adjus
t your material.
\n- Listen well! It is incredibly generous of perfo
rmers to let us into their worlds. Honor their vulnerability by staying qu
iet and attentive during performances. You never know &ndash\; someone&rsq
uo\;s poem or song might contain the words you didn&rsquo\;t even know you
were waiting to hear.
