 embers Open Exhibition: Small Works</em></strong></p>\n<p>The Mid-Southern
  Watercolorists (MSW) is a regional organization of artists who share a pa
 ssion for watercolor painting. Founded in 1970 in Little Rock\, Arkansas\,
  the group was created to promote and elevate the art of watercolor as a p
 rofessional medium.</p>\n<p><strong>More About MSA</strong></p>\n<p>Mid-So
 uthern Watercolorists was founded by five artists\;&nbsp\;Doris Williamson
  Mapes\,&nbsp\;Bruce R. Anderson\,&nbsp\;Josephine Graham\,&nbsp\;Edwin C.
  Brewer\, and&nbsp\;Catherine Tharp Altvater. The organization has approxi
 mately 200 members in 13 states\, Puerto Rico\, and Japan.</p>\n<p>Our goa
 l&nbsp\;is to enrich the stature of watermedia and encourage the recogniti
 on of its significance in our culture. This organization furthers the inte
 rest of painters and patrons through its programs and its competitive and 
 non-competitive exhibits. It also provides opportunities for study by art 
 students and others engaged in art making and in appreciation of arts.</p>
 \n<p>MSW exhibitions have been hosted in Little Rock\, Arkansas at locatio
 ns including the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts the Central Arkansas Library
  System&rsquo\;s Showcase Arkansas Gallery\, the Historic Arkansas Museum\
 , the Arkansas Art Center&rsquo\;s Terry Community Gallery\, and the Hot S
 prings Convention Center\, as well as other prestigious institutions in su
 rrounding areas of the state.</p>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Fo
