 rsuasive op-eds. Award-winning journalist Sonali Kolhatkar will share stra

 i>\n</ul>\n<p>She'll also discuss her favorite fact-checking tools and how
  we can effectively advocate for justice-oriented solutions to social prob
 lems. Writing exercises will reinforce the evening's core concepts.</p>\n<

 kar</strong>&nbsp\;is the founder\, host\, and executive producer of Pacif
 ica&rsquo\;s popular weekly program\, <a href="https://risingupwithsonali.
 com/">Rising Up With Sonali</a>\, which airs on KPFK and KPFA and is also 
 available as a TV show on Free Speech TV. She is the author of <a href="ht
 tps://citylights.com/city-lights-published/rise-up-the-power-of-narrative-
 in-pursu/">Rising Up: The Power of Narrative in Pursuing Racial Justice</a
 > (City Lights\, 2023) and serves as the racial justice and civil libertie
 s editor at YES! Magazine. She is also Senior Correspondent and Writing Fe
 llow for the Independent Media Institute&rsquo\;s Economy for All project 
 and was formerly a weekly columnist at Truthdig. She holds a Master&rsquo\
 ;s degree in Astronomy from the University of Hawaii and two undergraduate
  degrees in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Texas at Austin.
