The presenter \, Mary Rasa\, will discuss rationing and blackouts\, and how even Christm as decorations and food preparation ingredients were altered due to shorta ges. In addition\, Rasa will discuss \;homeland defenses against its e nemies and the development of radar on the beaches.

Mary Rasa is a native of New Jersey where she was museum curator/park ranger for \;t he National Park Service at Sandy Hook. Mary currently runs her own busine ss conducting historical research\, writing \;exhibits\, brochures\, g rants\, and social media pages as well as conducting history talks for non -profits\, libraries\, senior centers and historic sites.
