 previous sessions.</strong></p>\n<p>Words have power! This fun workshop se
 ries is designed to engage and inspire older adults to write poetry by giv
 ing voice to their thoughts\, emotions and experiences and using the genre
  as a vehicle of change. Participants will be led through prompts that tri
 gger the senses\, poetic forms\, devices\, and read and explore the work o
 f other poets. This eight-week experience will culminate in a Poetry Caf&e
 acute\; where participants share their poetry during a community showcase.
 </p>\n<p>This course is funded by Creative Aging Ohio and presented by San
 dra Rivers-Gill. Sandra Rivers-Gill is an award-winning poet\, playwright\
 , and performer in Toledo\, Ohio. She has served as a teaching artist for 
 Naomi Inc\, a non-profit and treatment facility for women in recovery and 
 the Otterbein Senior Living Communities. Her poetry is influenced by famil
 y\, community\, and social justice\, and has been featured in numerous lit
 erary print journals\, online and in anthologies. Her debut poetry collect
 ion\,&nbsp\;<em>As We Cover&nbsp\;</em><em>Ourselves With Light\,</em>&nbs
 p\;was a finalist for the 2024 Eric Hoffer Book Award.</p>\n<p>Please call
