\nThis year\, D eschutes Public Library is thrilled to host Michael Lavrich (&ldquo\;The T rain Man&rdquo\;) and his incredible train collection. This will be the tw enty-first year that Michael has brought his trains to the Library. Celebr ate this time-honored tradition by creating a train-inspired tiny painting (6&rdquo\;x6&rdquo\; canvas) to be shown in the Downtown Bend Library dis play case during the month of December. Join local artist Anastasia Zielin ski as she walks us through the steps of creating our paintings. Paintings will be put up for display after drying\, and participants will be able t o pick up their art pieces in early January.
\nAnastasia Zie linski \;is a multidisciplinary artist and arts educator. Her practice centers around painting\, fiber-based collage\, and installation art. She received her BFA with a minor in art history from Pratt institut e (Brooklyn\, NY 2005). Ms. Zielinski has shown her work nationally and in ternationally\, creating site-specific installations for INSCAPE arts\, Sh unpike&rsquo\;s Storefront Seattle\, Spaceworks Tacoma\, and CLAVO. Recent residencies include Casa Lü\; and eeeee\, both located in Mexico City . She is featured in issue #40 of CREATE! Magazine. Anastasia is one of th e 2023 recipients of the Jerry Goldstein Foundation award. Ms. Zielinski c urrently lives and works in Bend\, Oregon. See more of Anastasia&rsquo\;s work \;here.
