This presentation includes the sights and sounds of the Pinelands while taking the audience on a walk in the woods f amiliarizing them with the plants and wildlife of the legendary Pine Barre ns. Over the years living and working in the area Mr. Mott has experienced many of these up-close and will discuss iconic species like the Pine Barr ens tree frog\, Timber rattlesnake and Dargon's mouth orchid but also incl ude lesser-known inhabitants like the Flying squirrel and Bushy beard gras s.

\nPresented by - Joel M. Mott\, Principal Public Programs Specialist\, NJ Pinelands Commission\, (since 2003) Mr. Mott curr ently leads the Commission's efforts to raise awareness and understanding of the Pinelands. With experience in both environmental and historical int erpretation his career has comprised a wide range of positions from park r anger to museum curator. In the past he has held interpretive and forestry positions at several National Parks\, Historic Sites\, and Forests includ ing Beaverhead National Forest (MT)\; Big Hole National Battlefield (MT)\; Gettysburg National Military Park (PA)\; and Eisenhower National Historic Site (PA). Mott has deep family roots in the Tuckerton area where he was born\, raised and lives today. \; When not working you can usually fin d him outdoors enjoying the local bays\, streams\, and woods.
