\nJea n Duffy is a nonfiction writer with essays appearing in the Boston Glo be\, Concord Monitor\, PBS Next Avenue\, WBUR Cognoscenti\, and other venues. Soccer Grannies: The South African Women Who Inspire the Worl d\, published by Rowman &\; Littlefield in 2023\, is her first boo k. The book won a Christophers Award for uplifting the human spirit and an IPPY award in the Sports category. Jean can be found on the soccer field in Lexington\, Massachusetts where her team\, the Lexpressas\, have been p laying for some twenty years.
