The centerpiece of this event is the Black Audit program\, which empowers Bowie&rsquo\;s Black residents to assess t he city&rsquo\;s performance in critical areas like poverty reduction\, cl imate action\, economic growth\, and access to affordable energy. By gathe ring both community feedback and relevant data\, we will produce a compreh ensive SDG-based report card that highlights both successes and areas for improvement.
\nParticipants will have the opportunity to share their perspectives on where Bowie stands in terms of achieving the SDGs\, helpi ng to shape priorities for the future. This townhall will also raise aware ness of the SDG framework\, as many community members may not be familiar with its goals and how they impact daily life.
\nThrough this dialog ue\, we aim to shed light on the systemic disparities often experienced by Black communities\, ensuring that their voices are central in the evaluat ion process. Past reports have shown significant gaps in meeting SDG stand ards in Black communities\, and through this event\, we will highlight the se issues and work toward actionable solutions with city leaders.
