This 2021 mem oir is an expansion of an essay of the same name written by Zauner publish ed in The New Yorker in 2018. The book tells the story of Zauner&rsquo\;s complicated relationship with her Korean mother\, Chongmi\, who died from cancer when Zauner was 25. Exploring how Korean Food and cooking helped he r process the grief over her mother's death\, Zauner's memoir is an unforg ettable story about family\, loss\, culture and connection.
