 nuscript. This event is part of the first annual Lilac City Book Festival.
 </p>\n<p>The Lilac City Book Festival is a yearly event to support local w
 riters and illustrators of books for children and teenagers. It's organize
 d by Spokane Public Library and presented in partnership with <a href="htt
 ps://wishingtreebookstore.com/">Wishing Tree Books</a> and the local chapt
 er of the <a href="https://www.scbwi.org/regions/inlandnw">Society for Chi
 ldren's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI)</a>.</p>\n<p>About the prese
 nter: <a href="http://www.krisdinnison.net/writing/">Kris Dinnison</a> spe
 nt nearly two decades as a teacher and librarian while dreaming of becomin
 g a writer. Her work has appeared in <em>One Teen Story\, The London Journ
 al of Fiction\, HelloGiggles\, YARN</em>\, <em>The Inlander</em> and <em>T
 he Spokesman Review</em>\, among others. She lives and writes here in Spok
 ane. Her first novel\, <em>You and Me and Him</em>\, came out in 2015 from
  Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.</p>\n<p>By attending library programs\, you ar
