DESCRIPTION:Meet our next featured artist\, whose collage exhibit\, Shelte
red Ideas\, Home\, will be on display this winter in our Quiet Reading Roo
 m..\nhttps://hinsdale.libnet.info/event/12345852
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>You can stop by before our <a href="https:
 //hinsdale.libnet.info/event/10914010">watercolor class</a>\, which begins
at 7:00 p.m. in the community meeting room downstairs.</p>\n<h2>In Her Wo
rds</h2>\n<p>&ldquo\;Over the years\, I&rsquo\;ve worked in the shape of a
house\, a simple square and a triangle on top. The square has a meaning o
f stability\, and the triangle means goals and ideas. I moved a lot when I
was younger\; my father built houses in his youth and was an avid fixer-u
pper until one day my parents were able to build their dream home.</p>\n<p
 >&ldquo\;You&rsquo\;ll see small\, tiny homes and very large ones througho
ut this exhibit. What does your home mean to you? And what kind of feeling
does your home provide for you?&rdquo\;</p>\n<h2>About the Artist</h2>\n<
 p>Laura Lein-Svencner&rsquo\;s collages are a combination of symbolism\, f
orm\, meaning and spiritual content. Trusting in the process of intuitive
knowing and openness is a huge part of accepting emotional moments. She al
lows life to move her playful imagination. Laura finds that the edges of t
 he paper&mdash\;some clean\, some raw\, and some torn&mdash\;reflect life
itself.</p>\n<p>Laura grew up in Downers Grove near her grandfather&rsquo\
;s farm and now lives in Darien. She&rsquo\;s married with four grown chil
dren\, a granddaughter (and two more on the way)\, and a home full of lovi
ng creatures. In addition to making art\, she spends time teaching collage
as well. She is a signature member of the National Collage Society and a
co-founder of the Midwest Collage Society.</p>\nhttps://hinsdale.libnet.in
