 op with community members who hope for a peaceful and inclusive community.

 tify a bias incident vs hate crime</li>\n<li>What are the Oregon laws that
  protect us</li>\n<li>What are some bystander intervention techniques</li>
 \n<li>How to safely interrupt bias</li>\n<li>Opportunities to practice the
 se new skills with LCA</li>\n<li>Volunteer opportunities and much more!</l
 i>\n</ul>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p><strong>About workshop leader:</st
 rong></p>\n<p>Joanne was born during a dictatorship and grew up in the aft
 ermath of military occupation in Panama. Raised at her grandparents home\,
  she learned from an early age about the power of each individual to impac
 t their community. She graduated from high school in Panama City and moved
  to Dallas\, Texas in 2000\, where she studied English and psychology at B
 rookhaven Community College.</p>\n<p><br />In 2010\, Joanne moved to Bend 
 and advocated for underrepresented communities at the Volunteers in Medici
 ne clinic of the Cascades\, Latino Community Association\, Capaces Leaders
 hip Institute and more. She has served as a commissioner with the Oregon C
 ommission on Hispanic Affairs\, Bend's Human Rights and Equity Commission\
 , and was a member of the 2020 Wildfire Recovery Council convened by Gov K
 ate Brown. Joanne lives with her two teen daughters. She has developed a l
 ove of poetry from her father. She continues to enjoy writing\, daydreamin
