Shemika Renee is a historical interpreter\, an award-nominated and winning actress (WATCH Award nominee 2015 and First Qtr Winner Enginui ty Film Festival 2017)\, and an award-winning makeup artist (WATCH Awards 2013 and Clifton Film Celebration 2017). After serving in the Air Force fo r 5 1/2 years\, this former officer decided to pursue her dreams of being on stage.

In addi tion to being the Outreach Specialist at The National Colonial Farm in Acc okeek\, MD\, bringing to life the story of Cate Sharper\, an enslaved woma n in the 18th century\, and advocating for telling the truth about our nat ion&rsquo\;s history. She also travels to schools throughout Maryland\, br inging more famous historical figures to life. \; Previously\, she wor ked with Sotterley in &ldquo\;The Choice&rdquo\;\, and in February 2020\, she portrayed Harriet Tubman at The Capitol Building in honor of Harriet T ubman Day\, sponsored by Vice President Kamala Harris. In 2019\, she wrote and starred in her one-woman show\, &ldquo\;Ms. Story&rsquo\;s Living His tory.&rdquo\; \;
