Sewing machine not running right? Is your alarm clock pinging and you don't know why? Does your favorite pair of soc ks have a hole? You can fix it! Stop by the library during our first ever Fix-It Clinic to receive guidance and support in how to repair your broken objects. Keep your stuff out of the landfill and maybe learn a useful ski ll or two while you do it! These events are participatory and you will be assisting our volunteer Fix-It Coaches in repairing your item. You might l eave with a working object\, the skills to repair it\, or at least a list of next steps in how to proceed on your own. \;

You must be ab le to carry your item in and out of the building. Please bring any tools o r instruction manuals you may already have that will aid our Coaches in as sisting you. We cannot take unfixable items off of your hands. \;

IMPORTANT: Fix-It Clinic is \;not \;a free repair service.&nbs p\;Fix-It Clinic \;is \;a troubleshooting and discovery workshop s taffed by volunteer Fix-It Coaches: you are expected to actively participa te in the disassembly\, troubleshooting\, and repair of your item so that you leave fully empowered to share your new-found confidence and insight w ith your friends\, neighbors\, and the community at large.

REPAIR is not assured: Items can have issues that make them unrepairable\, and th ere is potential that we can exacerbate the problem during our attempts to repair it. Make sure you are aware of what repairs we can assist with tha t will or will not void any warranties. \;

Items to bring incl ude (but not limited to): woodworking\, textiles (clothes\, bedding\, bags \, etc)\, basic mechanical objects (paper punches\, toys\, robotics\, came ras\, etc)\, skateboards\, sewing machines\, small kitchen appliances (sta nd mixers\, toasters\, etc). Please fill out the registration form by lett ing us know in advance what you are bringing in\, and what you believe the preliminary problem is. Registration is preferred\, we will take walk-ins after registered patrons have been assisted. Registration will begin two weeks prior to the Clinic. All ages are welcome\, but little hands will ne ed adult help in using tools. \;
