 iscuss poetry addressing a person\, a thing\, or an abstraction\, such as 
 time\, gravity\, transience\, etc.\, by poets like Ross Gay\, Neruda\, and
  W.S. Merwin. Then we&rsquo\;ll draft our own odes in response to examples
  of modern odes and writing prompts. <strong>Registration is recommended</
 strong>.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This program is presented by Barbara Sabol &amp\; 
 Marion Boyer. Barbara Sabol's sixth collection is &ldquo\;WATERMARK: Poems
  of the Johnstown Flood of 1889\,&rdquo\; (Alternating Current Press\, 202
 3). She is the associate editor of &ldquo\;Sheil-Na-Gig online\,&rdquo\; a
 nd edited the anthology\, "Sharing the Delicate Bread: Selections&rdquo\; 
 from Sheila-Na-Gig online. Marion Starling Boyer is a professor emerita of
  Communication and has published three full-length poetry collections and 
 three chapter books. Her book\, &ldquo\;Ice Hours&rdquo\; (2023)\, won the
  University of Michigan's Wheelbarrow prize and was named "New and Notewor
 thy" by Poets &amp\; Writers.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>All adult programs offer ASL
