 an be traced as far back as the 1920s\, springing from Lindy Hop and the J
 itterbug\, to the 1950s when dancers in the nation's capital developed the
 ir own variety called DC Hand Dance. During the disco era\, hand dance beg
 an to fade into the background. It resurfaced in the Washington dance comm
 unity in the 1980's and has been enjoying a resurgence ever since. Today\,
  the community is thriving with classes\, events\, and other opportunities
  to promote the culture and tradition of DC Hand Dance so that it continue
 s for generations to come.</p>\n<p><strong>Carl Davis\, founder of Odyssey
  Hand Dance Academy</strong> will be teaching Intro to DC Hand Dance works
 hops at Aspen Hill Library. <strong>No experience is required! </strong>Th
 ere will be 3 opportunities to participate and classes are not cumulative.
  Each workshop is designed for the beginner student. Feel free to join in 
 at any point. Registration is required for each session you plan to attend
