Being one of our Summer Read VolunTEENS is a big responsibility. As a Summer Read VolunTEEN\, you will work with man y children and families using our Summer Read and Volunteer Management sof tware. You will be trained to complete activities and crafts\, play games and read with children of all ages\, straighten shelves\, program setup an d assistance\, and fulfill optional opportunities available based on the n eeds of the Library&rsquo\;s location. A two-hour training is mandatory to prepare you for the VolunTEEN experience! At training\, you will learn th e dos and don'ts of being a VolunTEEN\, Library policies and procedures\, available opportunities and how to sign up for them. After training\, you will receive a \;free VolunTEEN t-shirt and name badge! \;
\nStarting April 1st\, ALL new and returning teens must cr eate a Summer Read VolunTEEN account\, and you will receive an email confi rmation once your account is created. Please create an account \;here. Star ting May 1st\, all new and returning teens can register for a training ses sion online here< /a> \;(use keyword search: VolunTEEN) or at your favorite library loca tion. Register early\, as some locations fill up fast! Remember\, the Volu nTEEN program is for teens ages 13 (must be 13 at the time of account crea tion) through high school graduation\, and creating an online volunteer ac count and a two-hour training is mandatory!
