 ed assistance to thousands of formerly enslaved people in the Southern sta
 tes and the District of Columbia after the Civil War. It helped establish

 ong></p>\n<p>Dr. Ramona La Roche is a Cultural Heritage Informaticist: a s
 easoned Cultural Heritage professional working with galleries\, libraries\
 , archives\, museums\, repositories\, digital humanities projects\, virtua
 l and augmented reality platforms focusing on South Carolina Gullah\, Flor
 ida\, Caribbean\, African diasporic historical and family research\, conte
 nt development\, art education/digital literacy\, and in-services.&nbsp\;S
 he earned a Ph.D. in Cultural Heritage Informatics\, Communications and In
 formation Science from the University of South Carolina\, an M.Ed. in Dive
 rgent Learning from Columbia College (South Carolina) and a BFA in Photogr
 aphy\, Creative Arts Therapy from the School of Visual Arts in New York Ci
 ty. She serves as&nbsp\;Librarian Supervisor of Adult Information Services
  at the Broward County African American Research Library and Cultural Cent
 er\, and consults as&nbsp\;a divergent education specialist providing DEI 
 training\, and special event programming.</p>\n<p><strong>About the Divisi

 de Public Library System&rsquo\;s Division of Special Collections &amp\; A
 rchives holds rare and irreplaceable historical materials for the benefit 
 of the public and scholarly community. They oversee the Helen Muir Florida
  Collection\, 16mm Film Collection\, Cuban Collection of Rare Books &amp\;
  Ephemera\, Genealogy Collection\, Vasari Project archive\, and Rare &amp\
 ; Antiquarian books from as early as the 17th century. The Division's prim
 ary goal is to provide the public with the contents of the vault at their 
 request. Its collections include rare books\, original manuscripts\, over 
 18\,000 photographs\, prints\, artifacts\, audiovisual resources\, and ele
