 pendent press. She also wrote the memoir\,&nbsp\;That Woman from Mississip
 pi&nbsp\;(2017) and a novel\,&nbsp\;In Common&nbsp\;(2022).</p>\n<p>Watkin
 s has a Ph.D. in English\, an MFA in Creative Writing and serves as Profes
 sor Emerita at Miami Dade College\, where she held an endowed chair. She t
 aught creative writing for ten years at College of the Redwoods and Mendoc
