 <p>With roots in church choir harmonies and songwriting prowess built on a
  folk-rock adolescence\, it&rsquo\;s not so surprising that Rebekah Hawker
  ultimately found herself at the intersection of country and folk\, embrac
 ing the full spectrum the genres have to offer.</p>\n<p>Hawker&rsquo\;s la
 test single &ldquo\;Ticket&rdquo\; is a classic midtempo country song abou
 t two things that never go out of style\, in any genre: broken hearts and 
 broken dreams. She sings of rogues and radio play but flips the script in 
 a canny way\, declaring a positive outlook despite the rest.</p>\n<p>Rebek
 ah's is an award winning songwriter with accolades collected from Folk Can
 ada and the North Eastern Regional Folk Alliance. She was a selected parti
 cipant in the RBC Music Entrepreneurship Program in 2023\, and winner of M
 ariposa Folk Festival&rsquo\;s Emerging Artist Showcase in 2024.</p>\n<p>H
 er music has been heard on The Strombo Show and other CBC Radio programmin
 g and her song &ldquo\;Ticket&rdquo\; can be heard on rotation on SiriusXM
  Radio.</p>\n<p>Her sophomore EP\, Quit My Habit\, set for release in June
  2025 with funding from the Ontario Arts Council\, represents her most aut
