In this two-part tour\, visitors will get an overview of the MLK Library building\, its architecture\, and history\, and a chance to talk with members of the Washington Sculptors Group about their current open call exhibition planned for the MLK Library in summer 2025. This is a great chance for local artists who work in three dimension s to connect with\, and learn about\, this local arts organization. \;
\nThe tour begins in the MLK Library\, Great Hall\, near the en trance\, at 4:00 pm.

\nFounded in 1984\, the Washington Sculp tors Group (WSG) is a nonprofit corporation committed to promoting an awar eness and understanding of sculpture and fostering the exchange of ideas a mong sculptors\, collectors and the public through exhibitions\, events\, workshops and social gatherings. \;

\nAbout the upcoming juried exhibition at the ML K Library
\nThere is still time to apply to the Washington Sculptors Group open call! The exhibition\, titled Looking Back &n dash\; Look Forward: \;Sources of Artistic Inspiration \; \;honors the Washington Sculptors Group&rsquo\;s forty years in the D .C. arts community\, while highlighting the role that DC Public Library pl ays as the archive for much of the District&rsquo\;s cultural history. Thr ough an open call\, WSG members have been invited to submit work made resp onding to materials in archival collections held by the Library\, or to co ncepts embodied by the Library itself and its role as community gathering space. Jurors for the exhibition include: Linnea Hegarty\, Director of Eve nts\, Exhibits and Development at the DC Public Library\; Babette Pendleto n\, Program Manager for the Corcoran / National Gallery Partnership\; and Dr. Michelle May-Curry\, Curator\, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanitie s and core faculty in Georgetown University&rsquo\;s Master&rsquo\;s progr am in Engaged and Public Humanities.
