Books in this collection are written by Black aut hors and illuminate the story of African Americans by emphasizing their hi story\, legacy\, and cultural contributions. The collection was made possi ble by a donation from the Goette Family to honor Ms. Jeannette\, an avid reader who was instrumental in getting Black residents in Donaldsonville t o vote.
