Books in this collection are written by Black a uthors and illuminate the story of African Americans by emphasizing their history\, legacy\, and cultural contributions. The collection was made pos sible by a donation from the Goette Family to honor Ms. Jeannette\, an avi d reader who was instrumental in getting Black residents in Donaldsonville to vote.
