\nAbout Elaine Lee:
\nElaine Lee\, Esq.\, is a globetrotter and emancipator y travel journalist. She has visited 69 countries and completed two solo t rips around the world. Her website\, www.ugogurl.com\, is one of the leadi ng portals of black travel information and resources.
\nHer travel a rticles and advice have appeared in numerous national and local magazines\ , newspapers\, and webzines\, such as The New York Times\, O\, Essence\, B lack Enterprise\, Upscale\, San Francisco Chronicle\, the Indianapolis Sta r\, Detour\, the Miami Herald\, Charlotte Observer\, Uptown\, Yoga Journal \, The Bark\, Heart and Soul\, Odyssey Couleur\, Prevention\, Sunset\, Bet .com\, SoulofAmerica.com\, and the Alta Journal. She has also contributed stories to eight anthologies.
\nElaine has been featured on many loc al and national radio and TV shows. She has served as a keynote speaker\, lecturer\, and travel writing instructor at many national travel conferenc es. Whi te \;is a journalist and author whose books include \;Chain\, Chai n\, Change: For Black Women in Abusive Relationships \;(Seal Press\, 1 985) and the biography \;Alice Walker: A Life \;(W. W. Norton & \; Company\, 2004). A former reporter for the \;San Francisco Chronicl e\, she now lives and writes in Halifax\, where she has published articles in \;The Coast\, \;The Nova Scotia Advocate\, \;Halifax Exami ner\, and other local newspapers. \;
