Becoming a volunteer for Largo Public Libr ary's English Language Learning Program is a great way to make friends and give back to your community.

\n

At the workshop you will learn about the program's policies and procedures\, hear from current ELL volunteers\ , and participate in an in-depth tour of the library.

\n

Individuals interested in working with an English Language Learner one-on-one will be matched with a student. \;

\n

Individuals interested in providing administrative support will be scheduled to work with the community servi ces librarian regarding the behind-the-scenes functions of the ELL program . Once a relationship is established there may be a possibility to complet e Admin work from home. \;

\n

Individuals interested in creating a short-term course/s of 4 to 6 weeks will be scheduled to meet with the c ommunity services librarian to begin the discussion and development of a c ourse. Please note the planning of courses take a MINIMUM of two months fo llowed by approximately a month to execute the course\, followed by 1 to 2 weeks of after-action assessment meetings. The work of a short-term cours e maybe done with a partner or a small team of 3 or 4. \;

Regi stration is limited to ONLY individuals who have completed the Prospective ELL Volunteer Information Session/Open House AND who have submitted a vol unteer application. \;

ALL volunteers are expected to commit t o a MINIMUM of 6 months. \;
