\nKids will have the chance to learn about the importance of mai ze\, make their own corn necklace to take home\, and also create \;a p aper design for clay pots. This program is intended for upper elementary a ged children through adults. \;
\nAyanna Proctor is an enrolled citizen of the Piscataway Nation Turtle Clan and a descendant of the Susqu ehannock Nation. \;She \;is an award-winning quillwork artist as w ell as \;a \;cultural preservationist and knowledge keeper. \; Her artwork focuses on \;contemporary creations of flora and fauna. Ay anna \;practices traditional woodland farming\, hide tanning\, wild-cr afting and other ancestral skills. Her artwork has been exhibited in the U .S.\, Canada and Europe. Her mural painting\, È\;likhatink \;(In the Village)\, \;is on permanent display in the Maryland Room of St. Mary&rsquo\;s County Library in Leonardtown\, Maryland. \;
