 \; role in the Underground Railroad and how to find homes that may have be

 Teakwood Heights&rsquo\; Historic Legacy: A Conversation</strong><br />On 
 November 15\, 2024\, the nearby&nbsp\;Teakwood&nbsp\;Heights Historic Dist
 rict was placed on the National Historic register.&nbsp\;<br />Moderated b
 y preservationist&nbsp\;Nancy Recchie\, a panel of local residents\, activ
 ists and community leaders will share about the neighborhood&rsquo\;s conn
 ection to local Black history\, their memories of the neighborhood past an
 d present\, and how they are preserving and sharing their history.&nbsp\;<
 /p>\n<p><br /><strong>2pm</strong><br /><strong>Happy Birthday&nbsp\;Amina
 h!</strong><br />Join us at 2pm to sing&nbsp\;Happy Birthday&nbsp\;to long
 time Shepard resident and artist Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson (February 18\
 , 1940-May 22\, 2015) and enjoy a sweet treat! Aminah&rsquo\;s art was oft
 en inspired by the African concept of Sankofa\, which means understanding 
 the past in order to go forward. Honor Aminah by creating a work of art th
 at represents your neighborhood and community.</p>\n<p><br /><strong>10am-
 2pm</strong><br /><strong>Underground Railroad in Central Ohio Exhibit</st
 rong><br />View this exhibit to learn more about Central Ohio's role in th
 e Underground Railroad and some of the probable Underground Railroad sites
  in Columbus.</p>\n<p><strong>Create an Aminah Robinson-inspired work of a
 rt</strong><br />The library will provide supplies to create a work of art
  representing your neighborhood and/or community\, inspired by Aminah Robi
 nson and her mixed-media RagGonNons. You can take your masterpiece home\, 
 or we&rsquo\;ll have space to display them in the library.</p>\n<p><strong
 >Record an Oral History</strong><br />Record an interview and share your m
 emories with future generations. Our Local History &amp\; Genealogy team w
 ill preserve select interviews on My History\, the library&rsquo\;s digita
 l history collection.</p>\n<p><strong>Scan or Donate Historic Items</stron
 g><br />Our Local History and Genealogy team will be here to scan photos a
 nd documents to be added to our digital collection My History and accept d
