 \;" />Candacy Taylor</strong> is the leading Green Book expert in the coun
 try. She is an award-winning cultural documentarian\, and the author of th
 e best-selling book\,&nbsp\;Overground Railroad: The Green Book and the Ro
 ots of Black Travel in America. Overground Railroad&nbsp\;made the New Yor
 k Times&rsquo\; most notable books of the year\, Oprah Magazine&rsquo\;s t
 op 26 travel books\, and National Geographic&rsquo\;s top 10 list of books
  by women.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Taylor was a fellow at the Hutchins Center at Ha
 rvard University under the direction of Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. She has 
 curated&nbsp\;The Negro Motorist Green Book\,&nbsp\;&nbsp\;a multimedia ex
 hibition that has toured 14 US museums by the Smithsonian Institution Trav
 eling Exhibition Service (SITES) from 2020 to 2025.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Her pro
 jects have been commissioned and funded by the Library of Congress\, The N
 ational Endowment for the Humanities\, National Geographic\, The National 
 Park Service\, the National Trust\, The American Council of Learned Societ
 ies\, and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Her work has
  been featured in over 80 media outlets\, including&nbsp\;The Atlantic\, C
 BS Sunday Morning\, The Economist\, The Los Angeles Times\, The New York T
 imes\, The New Yorker\, Newsweek\, Fortune Magazine\,&nbsp\;Time Magazine\

 Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with award-winni
 ng author\, photographer and cultural documentarian\, Candacy Taylor\, off
 ers an immersive look at the reality of travel for African Americans in mi
 d-century America and how the annual guide served as an indispensable reso
 urce for the nation&rsquo\;s rising African American middle class and evid
 ence of a vibrant business class. The companion exhibition\,&nbsp\;The Gre
 en Book in D.C.: &ldquo\;A Particular Place for Particular People\,&rdquo\
 ;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;was produced by DC Public Library to complement the nationa
 l\, traveling exhibition by taking a deep dive into the stories of the mor
 e than 150 businesses and organizations right here in the District that we
 re featured in&nbsp\;The Green Book. A capsule version of this local histo
 ry exhibit will be available at eight neighborhood libraries around D.C.</
